Back to “The Practice”

Cosmetic dentistry is the art and science of designing beautiful and healthy smiles. It involves all aspects of general dentistry with a special emphasis on individual teeth and their overall harmony and balance in your smile. Look carefully at your smile. If you feel it could be better, consider having a cosmetic restoration. A beautiful smile can increase your confidence and self-esteem, giving you an edge in your everyday activities by improving your professional and personal image.

ZOOM! for the Whitest Teeth Ever!

The latest and most effective way to instantly get those white teeth you always wanted in less than 45 minutes. We apply the special Zoom! formula, place you under the Zoom! power light and before you know it, you will have a whole new smile. If it is not Zoom!, it is not the latest advance in power light bleaching technology.

The Zoom! Chairside Whitening system is a scientifically advanced, patent pending, tooth whitening procedure. It’s safe, effective and fast, very fast. In less than an hour your teeth will become dramatically whiter. Zoom! is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results. The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to days of wearing trays or strips makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual.

The Zoom! in-office whitening system will make your teeth dramatically whiter in less than an hour. The procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. The Zoom! clinician then applies the proprietary Zoom! whitening gel, which was designed to be used with a specially designed light. The Zoom! light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discoloration. With proper care your smile will sparkle for years.

Tooth whitening is a well established procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Hydrogen Peroxide, the active agent in Zoom! has been safely used for many years in the treatment of gums and other oral soft tissue.

The whitening process is effective on most discolored teeth. Darker stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, are more difficult to whiten. The degree of whiteness will vary from patient to patient, depending on the structure of the teeth.

Bonding

When teeth are chipped or slightly decayed, bonded composite resins may be the material of choice. Bonding is applied to a tooth via a light gun. First, the tooth structure is cleaned and etched. Then a clear adhesive is applied to the area needing bonding. Once applied, a tooth colored bonding material is placed on the tooth. It is permanently hardened and fused to the tooth with a hand held white light gun. This process is called photo curing. Bonding makes a great tooth colored filling for small cavities and broken or chipped surfaces. It can also be used to close spaces between teeth. Additionally, it is used to cover the entire outside surface of a tooth to change its color and shape. For the latter two applications, bonding has its limits. It may not be strong enough, aesthetic enough, or durable enough for certain individual situations. When these problems occur, the next choice would be porcelain laminate veneers.

Invisible Braces

Straighten your teeth without traditional metal mouth braces with Invisalign ®

Invisible Braces

Here is how it works: Dr. Papadakis and Dr. Gonzalez will take an impression of your existing teeth. The model made from the impression will be analyzed with 3-D computer imaging technology. The computer will figure out how to straighten your teeth and over what time. A series of clear plastic aligners will be made for you to wear. You’ll visit your dentist at regular intervals to check your progress. Congratulations! When you’re finished wearing each clear aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have straighter teeth and the beautiful smile you deserve.

You will wear each aligner for 2 weeks. They are virtually invisible and unnoticeable. You change each aligner at 2 week intervals until treatment is complete. (usually 6-14 months) This is truly 21st century dentistry it’s best! Call us today for a free consultation to see how easy it really is to have straight teeth.

Whether your smile needs minor improvements or more extensive adjustments, Invisalign can certainly help. It’s successful in treating overly crowded or widely spaced teeth. It can also relieve more complex issues, including overbites, underbites and even crossbites. In fact, your dentist can use Invisalign clear aligners in all or part of just about any treatment plan

Because Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners to position and straighten teeth, you can keep your active lifestyle during treatment. Unlike braces, Invisalign aligners have no metal bands or wires to irritate your mouth. So go ahead and be as active as you like. Since Invisalign is removable, just take the clear aligners out for special events or if you’re going to indulge in a sticky, gooey snack.

An average Invisalign course of treatment takes about a year. You’ll see your dentist every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you’ll receive a new set of custom-molded clear aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of clear aligners is specific to you, determined by your doctor for your course of treatment.
